Beannacht

Alden Smith had this poem on his Stream Of Consciousness Blog and I had to share it. Nobody can make you see the beauty in misery like the Irish.

  1. Oh, Sujsanna, now don't you cry for me..
Maybe being Irish makes me see the beauty of this without the misery..
But then, misery is a valid part of the human condition, and a blessing is a blessing, no matter how you interpret it.
    Have a lovely holiday...

  2. 'Tis a blessing for sure, Miz Darlin, but you have to struggle up the mountain to appreciate the view from the top. The Irish are masters of doing such a wild dance of joy after suffering adversity and wishing poetic blessings to those who need them.
    On the day when
    the weight deadens
    on your shoulders
    and you stumble,
    may the clay dance
    to balance you.

  3. Whatever the basis be it Irish blarney or overcoming adversity with a great gust of hyperbole, its very beautiful to read - thankyou for helping to spread a little bit of Ireland with the rest of the world Susanna.
